Saint Louis University - Madrid Campus will hold its Spring 2012 Commencement on Friday, May 11. Congratulations to all graduates! For a review of who is qualified to participate, please see the final section of this document.

Caps and Gowns

To participate in the ceremony, graduates must be attired in caps and gowns. Gowns may be purchased at the SLU-Madrid bookstore during normal hours before the date of graduation. SLU-Madrid provides each graduate with a cap free of charge. Cap and gown orders should be purchased by Tuesday, May 10, from the Bookstore. (Ms. María José Mo at the bookstore: mom@slu.edu)

Baccalaureate Mass

A Baccalaureate mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Virgen de los Dolores chapel located calle Olivos 11-13.

Commencement Ceremony

The ceremony will take place at noon in the auditorium of Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca auditorium (Calle Manuel Bartolomé Cossío; Metro: Metropolitano), a few blocks from the SLU-Madrid campus.

Families and guests should go directly to the auditorium; graduates, however, must gather with their caps and gowns at the back patio of Padre Arrupe Hall at 11:30 am. The procession to the auditorium leaves the SLU-Madrid campus at 11:45 am. Please don’t be late.

The Ceremony lasts approximately one hour.

Graduates may invite up to 6 guests; invitations are required. If additional invitations are needed, graduates should request them from Ms. Marta Maruri (+34) 91 554 5858 Ext. 213, (e-mail: mmaruriv@slu.edu).

Reception

After the ceremony, refreshments will be served at a reception on the patio of Padre Arrupe Hall (Avenida del Valle, 34).

Diplomas

Diplomas are not distributed at the ceremony. Saint Louis University will send diplomas to the contact address graduates have provided to the Office of the Registrar. If graduates wish the diploma to be sent to a different address, they should contact the Office of the Registrar (e-mail: registrar-madrid@slu.edu).

Life after SLU

A Commencement Ceremony marks a beginning—the beginning of your career, the beginning of a life of learning, the beginning of your life as a “son or daughter of Saint Louis University.” SLU-Madrid is committed to helping you as you make the transition. As a SLU Graduate, you are invited to participate in the Saint Louis University - Madrid Campus Alumni Association, which sponsors alumni events and reunions that helps you keep in touch with your classmates. The Alumni Office takes pride in Billikens in Madrid and around the world: its role is to celebrate their successes with each other and see how together they are shaping the future.
